  • In faith: JAM 1:6-7 Ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.

1.      Ask God: If you never ask, you will never receive!:  JAM 4:2 You have not, because you ask not. Thank God He doesn’t give you everything you ask for!

2.      Obey God: 1JO 3:22 Whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

3.      Know His will: 1JO 5:14  Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

4.      Live in His Word: JOH 15:7  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be done for you.

2. To prove God's promises true: 2Co 1:20  All the promises of God in him are yes and amen to the glory of God by us.

3. To bring glory to God: Joh 14:13  Ask in my Name....that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

4. To show you depend on the Lord, not yourself or man: Psa 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.

5. To demonstrate God's ability to provide for you: Phi 4:19 My God shall supply all your need.

6. To show God’s goodness to all men: Jam 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. Rom 2:4 Goodness of God leads you to repentance.

7. To bring fullness of joy: Joh 16:24  Ask and receive that your joy may be full.
